Viktor A. De Maio, Esq. is the Principal Attorney at De Maio Immigration Law, where he leads the firm’s legal strategy and oversees a team dedicated to delivering comprehensive, sophisticated, and results-driven immigration representation.

Viktor focuses on representing the Cuban community in Miami, bringing in-depth knowledge of the Cuban Adjustment Act and a strong understanding of the legal and cultural considerations unique to Cuban nationals.  He also maintains a dedicated practice serving the LGBTQ+ community, providing inclusive, culturally sensitive, and strategic legal counsel across a wide range of immigration matters.

As an immigrant and naturalized U.S. citizen, Viktor brings not only strong legal expertise but also a genuine, firsthand understanding of the challenges individuals and families face when navigating the U.S. immigration system.

Education and Academic Background
 

Viktor was born in Turin, Italy, and completed his early university studies in Hungary, earning a Master of Arts (M.A.) from the University of Pécs. He later moved to the United States to pursue his legal education at the University of Miami School of Law, where he graduated with honors, earning:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.), cum laude

  • Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International and Transnational Law, cum laude

His international academic background allows him to approach immigration matters with a broad, strategic, and globally informed legal perspective.

Viktor is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, and Hungarian, enabling him to communicate directly with clients from diverse backgrounds without the need for intermediaries.   • USCIS, in family-based petitions, adjustment of status, naturalization, asylum applications, and immigration waivers

  • Immigration Courts, in deportation defense, defensive asylum, cancellation of removal, and other forms of humanitarian relief

  • The Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), in appeals and motions to reopen or reconsider

  • Federal Courts, in complex immigration litigation, including mandamus actions and habeas corpus petitions
